Where To Catch The Show

Montrose is home to several unique movie theaters, including one of only seven drive-in theaters in the state of Colorado! Whether you like to watch the movies from your car or in the comfort of a seat, or, a live theater where stories come to life, Montrose has something for you!
Fox Theater
27 S Cascade Ave
The Fox Theater was opened in 1929 as a single-screen theater and has stood the test of time as one of Montrose’s most recognizable and loved buildings. Showing all of the newest movies, the venue sees hundreds of visitors each week and has a full concession shop and three comfortable theaters. Â
Star Drive-In Theater
600 Miami Road
The Star is celebrating over 70 years of business and has become an icon of Colorado cinema. Opened in 1950, the Star maintains a fantastic retro feel, as it remains very much the same as it was on its opening day. The family who owns it today is the same that founded it, and the parking lot, box office, and screen are still very much as they always have been. Bring some cash to the show, as the Star is a cash-only venue. And every dollar is worth it, so bring a blanket, relax, and enjoy the show, 1950s style!

Magic Circle Theatre
For over 60 years, local thespians have entertained thousands of audiences both young and old from a community theater run by devout volunteers.Â
The Magic Circle Players theater company began in 1959 after Chicago radio actress Bette Dustin Spiro moved to Montrose and started a new theater family with a group of friends. The company’s inaugural production of Green Grow the Lilacs featured Gerree Nash a local actress who would go on to become an integral part of the theater’s early years.Â
Now the theater is the longest continuously run theater in the state of Colorado. With six decades of experience to draw off of, the circle of people which make up Magic Circle Players know there will not be any curtain call on this theater anytime soon.Â
