Black Canyon National Park
At 2,700 feet deep and 53 miles long, the Black Canyon holds plenty of excitement for explorers of all ages. Summer in the Canyon offers fishing, hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding, nature walks, campfire programs and other adventures. Winter brings a whole new set of activities including cross-county skiing, snowshoeing and backcountry camping.
The Black Canyon was originally designated a national monument in 1933. However, in 1999, it was renamed a national park, placing it in the same league as other renowned treasures like Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon and Yosemite.
